88 Strings presents a program of original music written for the ensemble by top Canadian composers from different cultural backgrounds, as well as classical music from around the world which we adapt for our unique instruments. Members of the ensemble have developed a deep knowledge of the possibilities of our instrumental combinations, and so we all collaborate to pick the music we perform. From the lyrical to the virtuosic, we offer a program that takes the listener on a musical journey from the ancient past to the music of today.
